Weekend Edition: Yoga for Grounding and Releasing Anxiety
Raising money for the DANA victims in Spain
Coming Together in Support
Last weekend I held a charity yoga event to raise money for the victims of La DANA in Spain, the victims from the terrible storms and flooding that have been happening in Valencia, Cataluña, and down in Andalucía. What we had all thought would just be a couple days of horror has turned into a couple weeks of continued destruction.
We thankfully live up north and are out of the storm's path, but my husband tours all around the country with his company and has spent the last two weeks narrowly missing a lot of very heavy flooding. I have friends, colleagues and clients who live in majorly affected areas, and while all thankfully are okay, the devastation is real. One, an American living in Valencia, compared the overwhelming horror and grief she felt during 9-11 in the US. Another compared the storms, floods and aftermath to the film The Impossible. If you’ve watched the film, that may give you some idea. The whole country is reeling in shock and grief.
Last weekend at the charity yoga event was such a beautiful event. We raised 170€ to donate to the Spanish Red Cross, La Cruz Roja, which is amazing and I am so grateful to all who came and donated not just their time but also their love and community.
But I want to do more. So, I have decided that I will donate all of November’s paid monthly subscriptions from Morning Pause ‘n Tea and to share the recording of the session here for you partake in if you wish to.
If you aren’t a paid subscriber to Morning Pause ‘n Tea but would like to donate and do the session, you can sign up now and the November subscription money will be donated towards the relief efforts for the DANA victims. You can cancel your subscription at any time.
The yoga class is a gentle Viniyoga practice designed to help you ground in the present moment and release anxiety, tension and overwhelm. It is also designed to help you tune-in and reconnect with your inner wisdom, love and kindness.
One of the women who joined the session last week said this about her experience: “Omg! That felt amazing! Thank youuu Tess. I SO needed this 🧘🏽♀️❤️”
Recommended props for the class: yoga block (or a couple of big books), blanket and either a chair, wall or a few pillows/bolster.
Thank you in advance for your support, community and love!
