In this month’s Tea with Tess, I had the joy of sitting down with the multi-talented Stefanie Heider—yoga teacher, cultural anthropologist, business mentor, and fierce advocate for fempreneurship (a word which took me a little to get my mouth around, but I absolutely love it!) and authenticity. With a warm cup of herbal tea in hand (crafted according to her menstrual cycle, no less), Stefanie opened up about her winding journey from museum studies to self-employed yoga teacher, blending intuition, healing, and decolonial awareness along the way.
We talked about language (Stefanie speaks six!), the cultural layers of words (like coger in Spanish), and how our histories shape the way we speak and live. Stefanie’s honesty about walking away from a rigid academic environment to build something more heart-aligned was so refreshing—and relatable! She reminded me that our careers, like our lives, aren’t linear. They’re layered stories that evolve with us, and every part of our past can find a home in our present work.
One of my favorite moments was Stefanie's powerful reminder: “You are the main character of your story.” In a world that often pulls us away from our center, her voice is a needed call to reclaim our narrative, show up fully, and lead with integrity—even (especially) when it’s uncomfortable.
Stefanie’s passion for storytelling, social justice, and showing up as you are is magnetic, and I’m so thrilled to be part of her upcoming You Can Become Summit, happening August 4–7. I’ll be joining her on August 6 for a short chat and a special therapeutic yoga sequence to gently relieve fatigue and energize the body.
The summit is free and full of inspiring voices—entrepreneurs, creatives, and wellness guides—coming together to help you unlock your full potential. You won’t want to miss it!
